It goes without saying that good food makes a good event. Waiheke Island has always been blessed with fine wine and dining, we really are spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out here on the island. Along with all the amazing restaurants and caterers there is also the incredible local produce such as locally grown Te Matuku Oysters and Waiheke Olive Oil, which really add to the whole ‘local’ experience.
When thinking about your menu for a wedding or private event, we encourage clients to think about some fun alternatives to the more traditional food service ways. Oyster Bars and Grazing Stations have always been a favourite at our events over the years, and we love to style up something special to help make these a feature to any good gathering. The cheese stack replacing the traditional ‘wedding cake’ also continues to make a feature- especially when your’e more a ‘savoury’ over ‘sweet’ fan. These are easy to arrange here on Waiheke now, and we can help you embellish with fruit, flowers and condiments. One other winner for evening events is to include some late night snacks, scheduling them to come out around 10-11pm. Guests will love these, and they can be as simple as sliders, filled rolls or cheese toasties.
